People come from near and far to eat, drink and bliss out at Award winning Drift, a unique coffee house with breathtaking views over unspoilt miles of Firth of Forth coast and the Bass Rock. Drift is perfect for walkers, cyclists, day trippers and tourists (we’re half a mile away from Tantallon Castle) and very popular with locals too. Everything is freshly made, and, as a farm diversification business born out of a passion for food and drink, we love strengthening the connections between the land, sea and the table.

Make Drift your destination.

Our food journey.

All our food – from cakes and scones to soup, brunch and more – is lovingly made by us, often using recipes that have been in the family for generations. Everything on our breakfast, brunch and lunch menu is cooked to order, and we use as much Scottish produce as we can.

Our menus inside and out change with the seasons making the most of Scottish produce throughout the year. Our carefully crafted dishes use some of the finest ingredients from East Lothian and around Scotland.

Eating Outside and Takeaway Trailer.

Established in the summer of 2020 our eating outside and takeaway trailer was introduced to provide a service to customers looking for a quick bite to eat. On offer are sweet and savoury, eat on the go snacks, ice cream and hot and cold drinks. This autumn we look to bring back the ever popular Bacon and Drift rolls to add to sausage rolls, warm pies and of course our coffee and cakes.

All food is made lovingly in the Drift kitchen, sourced from local and Scottish producers and depending on ingredients in season soup, and some cake flavours will change.

 Furry friends

We love dogs, and you’re very welcome to bring them when you’re sitting at our picnic tables, which have hooks under the seats to keep them safe. The indoor space is dog-free, however.

Seasonal Menu.

With the change of season comes a change in DRIFT’s menu with between 90-95% of produce from around Scotland. Our links with farmers within the Agritourism sector remain strong and many products are supplied through them.

Each menu promises a point of difference, sharing boards, small hot plates and a land meets sea focus all made to order. Complete a meal with one of our homemade desserts or a slice of cake.

How to find us

We are just a few miles east of North Berwick, just half a mile from Tantallon Castle. If you don’t have wheels, the 120 Eve bus takes you to a stop that’s simply called Drift. If you’re coming from North Berwick, the stop is on our side (the coastal side), about 80m before us. If you’re coming from the Dunbar end, ask the driver to let you off at Drift.
